Liar's Dice - Dice Game Rules

Liar's Dice is a game of bluffing and deception where players must outwit each other by guessing the total number of dice showing a particular face.

Players: 2-12

Ages: 8 and up

Time: 20-30 minutes

Setup: Each player gets an equal number of dice up to 5 (less dice = shorter game)

Turn order: Clockwise

Goal: The goal of the game is to be the last player with any dice remaining.

Cycle (4 rounds):

1. Roll: Each player rolls their dice under their cup and peeks at their own dice without revealing them to others.
2. Bid: Starting with the first player, each player makes a bid on how many dice of a certain face (1 through 6) they believe are under all the cups combined. Each subsequent bid must either increase the quantity or the face value (e.g., from "five 3s" to "six 3s" or "five 4s").
3. Challenge: A player may challenge the previous bid instead of making a higher bid. When a challenge occurs, all players reveal their dice.
4. Resolve: If the challenge is correct (the actual number of dice with the face value is less than the bid), the bidder loses a die. If the challenge is incorrect (the actual number is equal to or greater than the bid), the challenger loses a die

Ending: The game ends when only one player has dice remaining.
